Music Monday on Sunday

Wilco is a pillar of connective expression for Doug and I. We wrap ourselves around their music. No. That's not really it. We wrap their music around ourselves.  Wilco is the first cool band Doug introduced me to when we started dating. He's introduced me to several since. Wilco is my favorite. I've grown to adore all things Jeff Tweedy. The presence of this music within our home is prevalent. We have books, t-shirts, posters, and albums, albums, albums. We love Wilco. And with their latest album came verbal confirmation that Wilco loves us back. YESS!

This piece is long overdue.

sobriety

150 days since uncertainty, fear, anxiety, drugs, disappointment.

150 days of progression, acceptance, trust, gratitude, peace.

150 days (fertility) drug free.

I hoped to have a baby.

I got a better me.

The Rainbow's End

I really don't even want to talk about it. How can I not be deeply saddened by the conclusion of something so marvelous; something I literally grew up with??? I am certain I'll move through all five phases of grief on this. Current state: denial. Additionally, I disagree.

holding

graduate school. i dropped my classes this morning. there is an intricate balance between finding yourself in the right place at the right time that allows for optimum success. i choose optimum success. there's something i'm too unsure of to move forward. not the right time? maybe. not the right place? maybe. i am unsure. the balance isn't there. i'm testing my patience. sometimes i move on a whim and hope for the best. this time i'll not. thank you Summer.

BEYding time

Today is the anniversary of Doug and my good friends, The Beydlers. This is significant because (a) Brandon and Liz are amazing people with a beautiful family and hearts of polished platinum and (b) six years ago, or maybe seven but I'm nearly certain it was six, Doug and I were at a beautiful ceremony in which the bridesmaids wore elegant navy dresses and the groomsmen stood steady and tall in tuxes and the bride's makeup was flawless and, are you ready for this, it's a doozie, we...

went completely unnoticed to one another.

So there it is, another whacktacular twist in our little love story.
Weirdly PERFECT. Undoubtedly AWESOME.

Happy Anniversary Brandon and Liz!!!
You RULE!
